CERT

Pemberton Township graduated its first CERT class in the fall of 2006 and began holding its regular monthly meetings  in January 2007. Since that auspicious start, the membership of the team has changed and grown to meet the diverse demands of Pemberton Township and surrounding communities. CERT members are activated by and report to the Emergency Management Coordinator of the Pemberton Township Office of Emergency Management.

Pemberton Township CERT members provide critical support to the first responders in emergencies, provide immediate assistance to victims, organize spontaneous volunteers at a disaster site, and collect disaster intelligence to support first responder efforts. One of our more recent efforts was to assist the American Red Cross in setting up, manning and disassembling the shelter facilities at Burlington Community College in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

In addition CERT members proide support for various non-critical functions and/or events, such as Wreaths Across America at Arlington National Cemetery and the Burlington County Farm Fair.
